The developer is a totally essential element in the hair coloring process. The oxidant creams contain the hydrogen peroxide, which opens the hair cuticle. The hair color and the developer are mixed in a certain ratio to form a tint mixture which is then applied to the hair. Mixing ratio is usually 1:1, 1:1.5 or 1:2 (for an extra strong lightening effect).

The key to successfully using ColorPerfect's ColorNeg mode are suitable scans of your negatives. The image file resulting from the scan must be in RGB mode and needs a bit depth of 16 bit per channel (48 bit RGB) and a linear Gamma (1.0).
